Run DMT

Much like the amazing Dillon Francis, Run DMT has been putting out bangers ranging from moombahton to dubstep. This duo from Austin, Texas consists of Lemiwinks & Parson and they are definitely a group to keep your eye on.
First up we have '100m Dash' which is a refreshing new sound considering everyone seems to be making dubstep these days.

Hitz

I swear everytime I go on the internet to update blogosphere the man of the year, Dillon Francis, has stepped up and blown my mind again. Here's his fresh new remix of Chase & Status' single 'Hitz'. Dillon Francis is, without a doubt, the best. Release date is set for July 17th, so sorry, but ya gotta wait another month for this gold. Hit play on the soundcloud and enjoy.

Trick Pony

Quick post on a new Boys Noize remix. This producer obviously has no limitations. His perfectly refined basslines crunch alongside the dreamy vocals and catchy guitar riffs of Charlotte Gainsbourg in surprisingly perfect harmony. Always a pleasure.

Southside!

Haven't heard anything from Bok Bok in ages. I could see how co-running and art-directing one of the hottest labels in dance music, Night Slugs, could be a tad time consuming, but come on, the wait is torture. I will say that the releases are, if possible, even more fresh and exciting than they would be normally. I hear there is much more to come too. So no complaints. Preview his upcoming EP "Southside", full of familiar yet new and improved mind melting synths and percussion, below. "Silo Pass"is straight nutty.

EXCISION + DOWNLINK - EXISTENCE EP

I'm in Cambodia right now. This is my first post abroad, and oddly enough I'm posting shit your pants dubstep, which I'm not normally inclined to love, but I can't hold in my excitement for this years Shambhala Music Festival. Classic Okanagan dubstep super stars Excision and Downlink will be delivering the filthiest of filth, like every year. They've recently released a collab EP titled EXISTENCE that will act as an accurate preview to anyone who has been deprived of their sets.

The standout track on the EP.

Excision and Downlink- Blue Steel

DillonDillon FrancisFrancis

I wouldn't have any difficulty exclusively posting the work of this moombahton warrior on the blog. The man doesn't stop, touring constantly and producing the most bangin moombahton tracks out, all while seemingly partying and enjoying it more than all of us put together. Here is the mix he did for the HARD event of L.A. Needless to say, the mix is jaw-droppingly huge. Listen for Toronto's Torro Torro on remix duty for Dillon and Diplo's already smashing track "Que". Boomdah.

Marble

An update from the french powerhouses behind Marble Music. These guys and Club Cheval are truly taking over. Marble Music, boasting Teki Latex, Surkin, Bobmo, and Para One as their current roster have found a finite balance between playful, almost comical house, and the necessary smash to set a dancefloor on fire.

Two tracks off of a forthcoming EP by High Powered Boys (Surkin and Bobmo):

A1 Bassline

The Croydon native A1 Bassline is making some big noise in the UK as of late. He recently started a label with fellow bass aficionados Kavsrave and Tek One. Check out Tighten Up Records. The label has given light to a new side of A1. His most recent releases are leaning towards an old school warehouse rave sound, all infused with huge garage influenced percussion and bass. I loved his old fidgety sound, but this new stuff is excitingly fresh, explosive, and hopefully here to stay. The tracks below have been championed by the likes of Feadz, Boys Noize, and Joy Orbison. See why.

Some soundcloud love:

Ridiculous remix from Montreal's rising stars Botnek. The track is Beataucue-esque, with vocals tweaked to an unrecognizable state of word and bass. Get mad.

BeatauCue - Behold (Botnek Remix) by BeatauCue

Bombaman somehow made this track cooler. Kept the liquid-metal bassline and added the freshest dub beat ever. First drop is mental. The whole track is.

RL Grime gives us a huge take on Diplo and Afrojack's "Look At Me Now". The drums! The drums!

Here are some chunes to start off the week.

This masked innovator is finally putting out an LP on Young Turks. I think it is safe to expect the unexpected from the South London producer. Here is a taste of what we might here on the album.

Sbtrkt- Wildfire (feat. Little Dragon)

Munchi was initially known for his agressive take on moombahton, making heavy kuduro influenced remixes of hard hitting tracks by producers like TC, Datsik, and Sebastian. I loved it all, yet I am pleased to say he is now gravitating towards a more lush and chilled sound. Do i dare say deep? See for yourselves.

Munchi- Me And My Bitch

I recently realized that i've yet to post any Ramadanman or Pearson Sound on the blog. Disgraceful. Here is an older favourite of mine. "Work Them" came out on Loefah's ever-growing label Swamp 81. The track is filled with an array of ridiculously timed drums and infectious vocal chops. Perfectly maddening.

Ramadanman- Work Them

Now for some reeaal shit. Some early nineties shit. Coming out on one of the most influential labels of all time, Strictly Rhythm. Feel it.

Logic- Blues For You (Hard Dub)

Friday

The Finger Prince

The Finger Prince are putting out an EP on Bang Gang Records entitled "Conductive II". Their soundcloud says they are from Botswana. As rad as this would be, I think they really hail from Aus. Top notch production from the duo, fat drums and cruising crunchy synths. The full EP is up for preview below, plus a smashing free remix from Charlie Why. Oh, and Bowski remix is absolutely bonkers. Crank those speakers up and make a badman face. Maybe you will feel half as cool as The Finger Prince.

Strip Glow

Two of my current favourites have recently paired up to make some of the best, stripped down, industrial techno i've heard in a while. From their respective homes of Paris and Berlin, Das Glow and Strip Steve seem to have chanced upon a powerful chemistry and sound. The two tracks posted below are percussive masterpieces; heavily distorted, raw, and relentless. High hopes for this duo. Their most recent releases have been put out on Boys Noize's sublabel Trax which can only mean more bigness to come.

Unglued

We really don't have any time to waste here. An incredible track by a Berlin bass soldier that goes by the name of Objekt. Immaculately produced. Rhythms in constant flux. Jaw dropping opening bassline. Neck dislocating qualities. Upcoming May release on Rubadub records. Use with caution.

BTSTU

This dude made a brief appearance on the scene earlier last year with his single "BTSTU", which was released for free on myspace. Over a year later, it has exploded onto the blogosphere and has been remastered and released by none other than XL recordings. In my humble opinion, "Don't fuck with me" is a fantastic way to open a pop song. The combination of falsetto vocals and crunchy basslines doesn't hurt either. I give you Jai Paul.

Here is the official remastered version:

TekiTek

I won't bother trying to articulate the beauty of this mix any more than Teki Latex. Apparently this frenchman has better english than I do. Check the writeup and track list here. All i will say is that it features the most promising and progressive talent France has to offer.

Longtime favourite Noob is putting out an EP, entitled Crumble, on Popof's Form records. If you haven't heard of Noob, know that he is at the forefront of french techno, making immaculately produced beats that never fail to get those heads nodding vigorously. Dillon Dillon Dillon

!!!! Hugest moombahton track yet. Ever? Dillon Francis has done it again. Toddla T was recently taken by the moombahton scene on our side of the pond. He proceded to dedicate an entire BBC radio1 show to the worlds sexiest genre. He then promptly got this genre-blending bass hound on remix duty for his latest single "Take It Back". The result is a slow burning yet immensely explosive dancefloor killaaa. I'll let you get to it.

Riddled with hilarity, these two hours feature world exclusives from the likes of Gesaffelstein and upcoming releases on Tiga's label Turbo. Martins

My fellow administrators and I had previously agreed to hold off on any Shambhala Music Festival hype for a while, but there is one artist i can't help but mention. Justin Martin was recently announced to be playing the Pagoda stage on friday night. Needless to say, this news has rendered me ecstatic. Justin's presence was somewhat expected due to past appearances from DirtyBirders at Shambhala, (check the San Fransisco based record label here). Claude Von Stroke played two years ago, followed by Justin's brother Christian. But i digress. Justin has been gravitating towards a more playful, bass laden sound as of late, and i have no complaints. His tracks are filled with large and in charge 808s and that jacking Detroit sound, all creating a perfect amount of bounce. See wadda mean:

Here is an early collab between the brothers.

The Martin Brothers- Stoopit

Their most recent original release. Steal Drums. Full of the sickest breakdowns and driving relentless basslines.

NEW DILLON FRANCIS - BEAUTICIAN

NEW SOUND

Big stuff from big names gracing your speakers today. Canadians Zed's Dead just released a large tune stepping away from their previous dubstep anthems, but regardless, still hitting hard in classic Zed's Dead form. Can't wait to lose my shit to this at Shambhala this year, just like it's 1975. Brooklynite heavy hitter AC Slater released a retake on Rihanna's 'Only Girl In the World.' He and fellow producer Riton did a beautiful job on this club ready track. Love it. Next, Shambhala headliner for the Fractal Forest stage, Kingdom, also has a brand new remix out that delivers pleasure in his classic heavy and eerie way. I finish off this post with a mandatory moombahton track, cause I just can't get enough of this shit. Indonesian madman Angger Dimas gets remixed in the best way possible by fellow Indo native Mahesa Utara.

Enjoy your week - I'm off to Thailand later this week for up to three months, so my posting may dwindle in the next few months. I'll try my best, but I'm sure Hank will take good care of you and will keep your musical thirst quenched.

More Brodi!

Couldn't help but post last week's essential mix by the aforementioned french powerhouse Brodinski. This mix is a friggen journey. It starts off with some soulful R&B, quickly morphing into some of the nastiest rap i've heard. Crunk to say the least. From here the sound travels through space/time by way of various styles of UK bass and Moombahton. It draws to a close with some seamless mixing, hard hitting techno, and progressive beats from fellow frenchman and LPC favourite Canblaster. Brodinski is the future.

Forever Vump

Massive french house DJ Brodinski & Guillaume Brière of The Shoes have been making news under the pseudonym Gucci Vump, their duo project that started in 2009. This side project combines Brodinski's background in house with Brière's rough electro-grunge style resulting in a completely unique and interesting sound. Here's to hopes that this duo takes over in the next few years!
Their most recent remix of Woodkid's Iron follows along with two other Vump classics. Enjoy.

Post Purple

Ginz is one of the two central figures behind the creation and progress of the dubstep sub-genre Purple. Ginz and fellow Bristol badman Joker have been churning out instrumental yet bass heavy dubstep for a couple years now, and show no sign of letting up. As for the term Purple, i think it's clear once you listen to the music, really visual stuff. This psychedelic take on dubstep is here to stay.

Clouds is the name of the Scottish duo that have taken the electro scene by storm, (pun not initially intended). They recently quit their jobs at Macdonalds, graduated from highschool, and are now making the crunchiest bass music full time. Fake Blood was the first to pick them up on his label Blood Music. NETSKY REMIXs RUSKO - EVERYDAY

I'll say this now to cover my bases - normally I am not drawn to the drum&bass/drumstep tracks out there, but Netsky's remix of Rusko's new anthem Everyday made me stop and take a listen. The video game noise coupled with an upbeat aggro drive puts me in a punching mood. Here's to raves. Enjoy.

Ego Mirror

I might be a little late jumping on the latest bandwagon that is the EP from Four Tet and Burial, featuring the falsetto vocals of Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke, but is anything else really worthy of posting in comparison? I don't need to sell this one to you guys. Thom Yorke, Four Tet, and Burial have all respectively been at the forefront of experimental music for quite some time now. Their contributions, whether within the realms of indie music or post-dubstep, have never failed to inspire. Four Tet and Burial have done some collaborations in the past, but to add the astral vocals of Mr. Yorke is a true treat. Yorke has been delving more and more into the world of experimental electronic music, including past work with Brainfeeder head and beat-maker extraordinaire Flying Lotus and even some dubstep infused originals on Radiohead's new independently released album, King Of Limbs.

Here are some related and aforementioned tunes. Blast Off...

Burial and Four Tet- Moth

Burial- Untrue

Flying Lotus- ...And the World Laughs with You (ft. Thom Yorke)

Musical Conglomerate

Been a few since I put together a post. My apologies. Hopefully I can redeem my credibility with this post I just put together. Here's a musical conglomerate for you - ranging through all genres starting with some dubstep from classic Vaski and even some Diplo before showcasing some electro/house starring one of my favorites Bart B More. Then get transformed into jungle/tropical-ish (via Mad Decent) ultimately leading into some experimental/indie tracks before finishing off with some OFWGKTA nasty ass rhymes.
Hopefully the contents here get you to move, smile, frown, stomp, and everything else that music makes our species do.

R.I.P Institubes

Institubes was undeniably one of the most influential record labels in electronic music. After almost eight years, the ghetto house party is unfortunately over. I won't bother to try and match the french label heads Teki Latex and DJ Orgasmic's write up on the issue...check out their interesting story and views on the current scene here.

Not all bad news though. In the death of Institubes rises a new label, Marble records, headed by french heavyweights Surkin, Bobmo, and Para One. Here is a reassuringly promising bomb of a mix of upcoming tracks on the label featuring Surkin, Para One, Bobmo, Teki latex, Myd, Das glow, and my favfavfavourite Canblaster.

She Wants Revenge - "Take The World" remix EP

Boy have I ever got a treat for you. California based, genre-less duo She Wants Revenge released a free EP of their latest single "Take The World." They've got some heavy hitters remixing their stuff. Joker's Of The Scene, Nadastrom, and CREEP jumped out immediately at me - but this isn't saying to ignore the rest. Take a look at the Greenleaf song for an awesome electro anthem, and the HavocNDeeD dubstep remix blew my mind. Check it out. I'm going out here on a whim and Saying CREEP's is my favorite, but I'm not really sure. Download the whole thing. Fucking awesome.

Surprisingly nasty song choice for remixer Toro Y Moi. His progressive and eerie beats and synths work perfectly with the grimey rhymes of Tyler, The Creator.

Tyler, The Creator- French (Toro Y Moi)(192)

I always thought the original had the sickest beat. Dark Sky did what they needed to do to make it even more club friendly and full of their expected swagger.

Coming out on a new Belgian label Pelican Fly. Clearly big things to come.

Help Munchi

"Munchi had a seizure caused by an intracerebral hemorrhage, with no prior condition. He spent 9 hours in a coma and 11 days in the hospital recovering. He has no medical insurance in the US. His medication is expensive and he needs to get back to Rotterdam. Our goal is to pay for his ticket home, get our Hawaiian friends reimbursed for his meds and eventually pay for his hospital bills.Dave Nada, Ayres and Tittsworth will collectively match your donations. You can’t give too little or too much, and it is all appreciated."

Munchi needs your help! Moombahton, which in my opinion is the coolest and most progressive genre on the scene right now, wouldn't be what it is today without this guy.
We all owe him a ton. Pay your dues! Take that cash you were going to spend on cheep beer and weed for the weekend and put it towards the future of gaddamn dance music.

Sunday

It's OK.

The weekend has come to an end. With this post I am hoping to soothe/reassure then promptly make you wish it was friday so you can do it all again.

I can't think of many other voices that would cheer me up more than those of Lykke Li and Adele.

Lykke Li- I Follow Rivers(The Magician Remix)

Adele- Rolling In The Deep(Villa Remix)

Better? Let's get grooving again like we should be.

++ BOYS NOIZE & HOUSEMEISTER

Berlin's big name house producer, BoyS Noize is releasing another conglomerate EP with friend, Housemeister. Titled "Shizzo" the EP is available on beatport here.
Following are 1:28 "snippits" of the three tracks. First track, "shizzo" puts me in the trash mood that I love so much, "nbaxx" follows it with a boss-like song. Shit is tight. The last track, "saturday" hits me harder than I expected. Definitely got some disco influence in it, but damnn! Take a listen.

ps. here's a 320 of Shizzo ;)
